About My Visit

Services I offer

test

Wellness & Preventative Care

Comprehensive wellness examinations include a thorough physical assessment, personalized vaccination protocols, and preventative screenings for infection and systemic illnesses. These proactive health visits are designed to detect potential issues early, and maintain your pet's optimal health. We can discuss your pet's health needs, lifestyle and dietary requirements, then we will develop a customized preventative care plan.

Illness Diagnosis & Treatment

When your pet is not feeling well, I provide diagnostic evaluations and evidence-based treatment for a range of medical conditions. My approach combines careful examination with appropriate diagnostic testing to identify health issues and develop effective treatment plans. I'll work closely with you to determine if further diagnostics are recommended, and if at-home care or in-hospital treatment would be the most beneficial option for your pet.

Urgent Care

Sometimes a situation with your pet can require urgent attention while not quite being an emergency. I offer urgent care on a limited basis during regular business hours. Please text for the fastest response Thursday - Sunday and understand these slots are limited and can fill quickly.

Telemedicine

It's HOT in Arizona, let's beat the heat and save some energy by doing virtual appointments for your fur babies. Telehealth appointments are ideal for follow-up care, medication adjustments, behavioral discussions, and addressing minor concerns that don't require hands-on-examination. Arizona allows us to establish a client patient relationship virtually, so we help with monitor issues even for new patients.

Pain Management & Hospice

Compassionate, tailored pain relief and end-of-life care to ensure your pet's comfort and dignity during their senior years or when facing serious illness is vital. My multimodal pain management approach is customized to each pet's specific needs, focusing on maintaining quality of life and supporting both pets and their families during more difficult times.

Peaceful End-of-Life

Saying goodbye to a beloved companion is one of life's most difficult experiences, compassionate in-home euthanasia services allow your pet to pass peacefully surrounded by family in the comfort of their own environment. A clay pawprint is included with the visit as a special memento. We do not directly provide cremation services, but can assist with transportation to several local veterinary hospitals that do. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about making this decision and what happens during or afterwards.

What to expect in a house call visit

Schedule a Visit

You can easily arrange a visit with me using my online scheduling system. Simply request your preferred appointment time online, by text or calling, and I'll confirm the visit based on availability. When you schedule your visit, you'll be asked questions about your pet to ensure we coordinate care that fits your schedule while allowing me to prepare properly for your pet's needs.

Before the Visit

My visit fees are listed here on my website and discussed upfront, so there are no surprises. Please provide your pet’s medical records ahead of time if possible. We can contact your previous veterinarian to request them as well.

During the Visit

Every pet is unique, and I believe in creating individualized care plans that work best for you and your furry family members. My typical house call visits last approximately 45 minutes, giving us plenty of time for a thorough examination, discussion of findings, and development of a treatment plan together. Payment is conveniently handled by credit card at the visit.

After the Visit

I believe in maintaining open communication with my clients. You can reach me by phone or text with any questions or updates about your pet's progress. I'm always eager to hear how your pet is doing! For ongoing care needs, I also offer telemedicine consultations that make follow-up appointments convenient and accessible from your home.

Practice Philosophy

test
Individualized veterinary care makes me happy. The personalized medicine and care a house call veterinarian can provide is what I believe in. We will have the time to talk, the time to look at where your pet spends the majority of his or her days and nights, and to figure out what can help everyone the most. I’m resourceful, and I always want to be a bridge to care. How can I help make it better? Because there is always a way.

Summer Heat Warning

test
Due to the extremely high summer temperatures here in Arizona and for the safety of our team, we are only seeing in person appointments during the morning hours until September. We do offer afternoon telemedicine appointments for continuity of care. Thank you for understanding.

Access To Care

test

The Dave and Cheryl Duffield Foundation and Petopia have generously provided grants to four veterinarians around the country to incubate our house call practices, provide grant funding to assist those who cannot afford pet care in our areas and ultimately partner with local groups in our areas for a sustainable veterinary practice. I accepted one of the grants because our community in the Verde Valley needs more affordable and accessible veterinary care.
